A Charm invest a face

By: Emily Dickinson (1830–86). Complete Poems. 1924.

Part Three: Love

XXVIII

A CHARM invests a face
Imperfectly beheld,—
The lady dare not lift her veil
For fear it be dispelled.

But peers beyond her mesh,
And wishes, and denies,—
Lest interview annul a want
That image satisfies.

Till life do us apart

By: Angel Valles C.

I know it´s here. It´s almost round,
that something in my life
still long to be found...

If I ever be so lucky to have someone to stand by
please come soon, come deeply and come slow
as in the evening of my life, easy comes the snow.

If that someone has a heart with no scars to show
let her just be. Let her come free
while the stormy clouds roll across the highest hill.

If that someone has a love to share with me
somewhere else but here...
Hope she is ready to neglect certain things.

(Because if you just happen to see me
with all these words trying to survive
please stay... Till life do us apart)
